Living in Derry:
Accommodations that make you feel at home

At North West Academy, we know that leaving home and adapting to a new environment can be challenging, for both students and parents. We make sure this experience is as positive and stress-free as possible because we understand how important it is for you to feel comfortable and safe while studying abroad.

We know that adjusting to a new home isn't always easy, but we're here to make the process as simple and enjoyable as possible. From the moment you arrive, you'll have the support you need to settle in quickly.

"My goal is to ensure that every student, whether young or old, feels at home and makes the most of their time with us. I will ensure they have the support they need to enjoy an enriching stay, with a welcoming, safe, and motivating environment where they can learn and grow both academically and personally."

Accommodation Options:
The best choice for a unique experience

Accommodation in the academy's residences

For students who prefer a more independent lifestyle, our student residences are the ideal option.

Fully furnished and of high quality, they are located near the city center, allowing students to enjoy city life while continuing to improve their English.

Living in the residences provides the opportunity to interact with students from all over the world, fostering a multicultural environment and the creation of international friendships.

In the residences, students also take on responsibilities for daily tasks, such as organizing and managing dinner and breakfast. All of this is done under my supervision, ensuring that students learn to manage their daily lives independently while benefiting from a supportive environment.

This experience not only contributes to their academic development but also to their personal growth, teaching them valuable lessons about responsibility and autonomy. For parents, this option represents a safe and dynamic environment, ideal for their child's all-around development.

Family accommodation with full board

Homestay accommodation is the perfect option for students who want to fully immerse themselves in the local culture and experience the daily life of an Irish family.

Living with a host family not only allows you to practice English continuously and in everyday situations, but also offers you the warmth and closeness of a home where every detail is taken care of to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The host families are carefully selected ; all are native speakers and live close to the city, ensuring a quick and natural integration into local life.

Furthermore, this option provides a valuable opportunity for students to experience Irish customs firsthand, enjoying home-cooked meals and learning about everyday Irish life. Host families offer a caring, family-like environment , which facilitates adaptation and creates a more personalized and intimate experience. Parents can rest assured knowing their child is in a safe environment, with ongoing support to help them overcome any adjustment difficulties.

For students, this option not only improves their English level , but also strengthens their personal growth , developing a better understanding of different cultures and the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.

We understand that when you arrive in a new country and immerse yourself in a different culture, adjustments and adaptations can occur. That's why at North West Academy, we offer a 24/7 emergency contact number to address any issues that may arise. We understand that cultural differences and customs can create obstacles, but we have a long history of resolving any issues quickly, responsibly, and with the utmost commitment. Our goal is to ensure that every student feels supported and assisted at all times, so that their experience in Derry is as positive and enriching as possible.
